Terms of service
1. Scope and price
Every project has a written scope, a price and a date, agreed before any work starts. Plans follow the scope published on modularstudio.io/pricing; Projects follow their written proposal. Anything outside the agreed scope is quoted separately and only starts with your approval.
2. Payment
Payments run on Contra. Plans are paid in two milestones, each funded before its phase starts and held in escrow until you approve it. Express is paid 100% upfront and held in escrow until approval. The Retainer is invoiced at the start of each month. Card processing fees are paid by the client; the Contra platform fee is paid by Modular.
3. Changes and approval
Each deliverable includes two review rounds. Please reply within 48 hours to keep the date; if a deliverable gets no reply for five business days, it counts as approved. For Express, the brief must arrive within 7 days of payment, or the payment becomes a 60-day credit.
4. Ownership
Files, code and video belong to you once the phase that contains them is paid. Modular may show the work in its portfolio unless you ask us not to in writing.
5. Refunds
You get a full refund if you cancel before work starts, or if the first version of an Express piece is late. If an Express piece misses the brief, we redo it once. Once a phase is approved, its payment is final.
